United Airlines serves US Virgin Islands

United Airlines Returns to St. Croix After 32 Years: Great News for Travelers, Tourism, and Real Estate

The U.S. Virgin Islands received exciting news this month as United Airlines announced the return of nonstop service between Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Henry E. Rohlsen Airport (STX) on St. Croix. Beginning October 31, 2026, United will operate weekly nonstop flights between Newark and St. Croix, restoring a route that has not existed since 1994.

This is a major milestone for St. Croix and a significant win for residents, visitors, business travelers, and anyone considering purchasing real estate in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

A Historic Return to St. Croix

United's new service marks the first nonstop connection between St. Croix and the New York metropolitan area in more than three decades. The airline will operate the route on Saturdays using a Boeing 737-700 aircraft, offering 126 seats, including business-class seating.

For years, travelers from New York and New Jersey typically had to connect through another city before reaching St. Croix. This new nonstop service simplifies travel and makes the island more accessible than ever before.

United will become the only airline offering nonstop service between St. Croix and the New York City area, providing a valuable new option for travelers.
