From the moment you enter, this award-winning home by Hugh Newell Jacobsen, architect of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's Martha's Vineyard residence, draws you toward the Caribbean Sea. Set on 2.75 oceanfront acres, the design pairs soaring ceilings and walls of glass with a dramatic central atrium featuring 20-foot live palms. Large, bright rooms open to private patios, creating an easy connection to the outdoors. Across the main residence and guest house are six bedrooms plus a loft, with plenty of room for guests. The beautiful kitchen overlooks the pool and sea, while the 15-foot concrete dining table is made for gatherings. Outside, the resort-style pool is the centerpiece, framed by fountains. A successful vacation rental, and just a short drive from Frederiksted and beautiful beaches. Beyond the initial impression, the scale and thoughtfulness of the design continue throughout the home's expansive indoor and outdoor living space. Solid concrete construction, soaring 20-foot ceilings, expansive walls of glass, and concrete flooring that flows seamlessly from interior rooms to exterior patios give the home a sense of permanence while keeping it completely connected to the surrounding landscape and sea. Trade winds move easily through the residence, and nearly every room enjoys its own outdoor retreat. Two of the bedrooms share a secluded private courtyard, creating an additional sanctuary within the home. At night, the central atrium takes on an entirely different character as the towering palms are illuminated like living artwork, reinforcing the home's unique blend of architecture and nature. The reimagined chef's kitchen is both sculptural and highly functional, with a dramatic 10-foot island, custom coffee bar, marble backsplash, refinished white concrete countertops, and stainless steel appliances. It opens directly to the dining area, where the handcrafted 15-foot concrete table comfortably seats fourteen beneath the home's signature high ceilings. The outdoor living areas are equally impressive. More than 7,000 square feet of oceanfront concrete patio create multiple spaces for lounging, dining, and entertaining around the newly built resort-style pool. Elegant fountains and water features are complemented by six commercial-grade Tucci umbrellas, including one incorporated into the pool lounging area, along with white loungers, curated dining furnishings, and a custom Sunbrella sectional. A newly constructed commercial-grade pool building houses upgraded mechanical systems, with smartphone control of the lighting, fountains, and water features. Premium Bose outdoor audio extends the entertainment experience throughout the pool terrace. The separate guest residence offers a full kitchen, beautiful ocean views, and accommodations for up to six guests, making it ideal for visiting friends, or vacation rental use while maintaining privacy from the main residence. Combined, the property offers sleeping accommodations for up to 18. Recent improvements also include professionally designed front landscaping created to complement Jacobsen's minimalist architecture. An upgraded 40kW generator with automatic transfer switch, whole-house water filtration system with UV purification and two cisterns provide valuable infrastructure and added self-sufficiency. The location places the estate within approximately 8-10 minutes of Henry E. Rohlsen Airport, within walking distance of Carlton Beach, and just a short drive from Frederiksted and the celebrated beaches of St. Croix's West End. Frederiksted is known for its historic Danish colonial architecture, cruise ship pier, restaurants, dive shops and the best sunsets!. Nearby Rainbow Beach offers calm, clear water for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding. Sandy Point National Wildlife Refuge is open part of the year, and when closed you can join groups to go see turtles nest on the beach, an incredible experience! Just off the Frederiksted waterfront, the Frederiksted Pier is one of the Caribbean's best-known shore diving and snorkeling sites, popular for marine life photography. Inland, the Ham's Bluff Lighthouse and Annaly Bay tide pools offer another side of St. Croix for those looking to explore and hike beyond the beach. Hugh Newell Jacobsen designed (1958 to 2019) designed 152 houses and projects, was featured in Architectural Record's Record Houses issue 20 times (a record), and his client list includes Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Bunny Mellon, King Hussein and Queen Noor of Jordan, and Meryl Streep. He was elected to the National Academy of Design.

$3,499,900

Experience resort-style living at this gated three-acre estate near Green Cay Marina, beaches and dining, with sweeping Buck Island and Caribbean Sea views. Six bedroom suites offer generous accommodations, while the spacious kitchen flows into the dining and living areas, where large windows showcase the spectacular island scenery. Enjoy a beautiful pool, lighted tennis court, sauna and game room. A showpiece of the estate is the Sugar Mill, featuring stunning craftsmanship, custom woodwork and bar, an upper floor and full bathroom, a truly unique setting. The lower level includes a garage and apartment for added flexibility. A well is located on the property but is not currently in use. An exceptional St. Croix estate with privacy, views and resort-style amenities. Driving up towards the Southgate Estate, the drive climbs through three private acres on the hillside above Green Cay Marina, and the first thing that greets you is the sea. The view stretches across the marina to Green Cay and Buck Island, then out over open Caribbean water, and it stays with you in nearly every room of the house. This is an estate built the way few private homes are. The structure was constructed to commercial standards, and you feel that quality the moment you step inside. The great room is the heart of the home, a grand, open space where the kitchen, dining and living areas come together beneath a soaring tongue-and-groove wood ceiling carried on massive commercial-grade beams. It is a room scaled for gatherings, yet the warmth of the wood keeps it inviting. A long line of arched windows and French doors opens the entire room to the sea, letting in the light and the trade winds and drawing everyone straight out to the terraces. The kitchen sits at the center of it all, so whoever is cooking never misses the view or the conversation. High-gloss white cabinetry, granite countertops and a mirrored backsplash surround a generous angled island with a cooktop, set on polished tile floors. Built-in Sub-Zero refrigerators, a new wall oven, cooktop, dishwasher and ice maker make it as practical as it is handsome, whether you are preparing a quiet dinner for two or catering an evening for a crowd. The private quarters are thoughtfully spread across the home's wings and levels. Five bedroom suites give owners and guests genuine separation, so a full house never feels crowded. The main-level suites open toward the terraces and the water. Upstairs, two additional living areas, one opening to its own balcony, offer room for a media room, a home office or a quiet place to read. Below, a separate one-bedroom apartment with its own living room, bath and terrace welcomes extended guests or staff in complete privacy. Its kitchen has been newly renovated with all-wood white shaker cabinets, quartz countertops, a breakfast island and new appliances. A garage completes the lower level. Step outside and the estate truly comes into its own. Covered verandas lined with graceful arches wrap the main level, connecting the great room to the bedroom wings and opening onto the pool deck. The tiled pool, recently re-grouted with a new pool light, is the centerpiece, framed by a terracotta deck for lounging in the sun and shaded dining beneath the arches, all looking out to the sea and Buck Island. Mornings begin with coffee on the veranda. Afternoons drift between the pool and the shade. Evenings end with dinner outdoors as the lights come on across the marina below. Beneath the terraces, a lower covered walkway lined with arches leads to a wide lawn framed by bougainvillea and palms, stepping gently down the hillside. Up the slope, past the lighted tennis court, stands the property's most memorable feature: a stone Sugar Mill transformed into a private retreat. Inside its stone walls, the craftsmanship and custom woodwork are exceptional. A custom bar, an upper floor, a full bathroom, a tall arched window and arched wooden doors make it a one-of-a-kind setting for sunset cocktails, an intimate dinner or a celebration with friends after a match. It is now air-conditioned with its own split units and reached by new concrete stairs with railings and a concrete and travertine path. A sauna and a game room complete an amenity list few private homes on St. Croix can match. Behind the beauty is an estate that has been carefully cared for. Since 2023 the owners have invested in significant updates, including a new 60kW diesel generator installed in 2024 and the replacement of most of the A/C system with new ducted indoor and outdoor units and new mini splits. A licensed electrician completed a full code and safety update covering the panel, outlets and GFCIs, smoke detectors in every room, interior and exterior lighting and the hurricane shutter switches. New toilets, new Andersen door locks, an added hurricane shutter door and a rust-treated, repainted perimeter fence and gates round out the work. A well is located on the property but is not currently in use. Life here extends well beyond the gates. Green Cay Marina is within walking distance, with boat slips, fishing charters and day trips to Buck Island Reef National Monument, celebrated for its white sand beach and underwater snorkeling trail. Just past the marina, the white sand beach at Tamarind Reef looks out to Green Cay, and the Deep End Bar serves casual open-air meals right on the water. Chenay Bay beach is close by. The Buccaneer, with its 18-hole ocean view golf course, tennis courts and beaches, is a short drive, and historic Christiansted is minutes away with its Danish colonial architecture, Fort Christiansvaern and harborfront boardwalk of restaurants and shops. To the east, the road leads to Point Udall, the easternmost point of the United States, along with scenic hiking trails and quiet, secluded beaches. Privacy, sweeping sea views, commercial-grade construction and resort-level amenities, all within walking distance of the marina and the beach. $3,450,000

Estate Lucky Bottom: A rare piece of history in Cane Bay, this extraordinary 17.88-acre estate features a stately Greathouse with a saltwater pool and sweeping Caribbean Sea views, blending historic preservation with modern island luxury. The 4-bedroom, 4.5-bath residence, inspired by Danish colonial architecture, showcases Brazilian cherry and travertine floors, a solar power system with backup generator, and fine craftsmanship throughout. Behind the double gated entry--one at the road and another near the garage--beautifully landscaped grounds, with fruit trees, unfold across rolling hills, surrounding rare 1820 sugar-mill ruins with an intact animal slue--the only one of its kind on St. Croix. The grounds are abundant with mature specimen trees--mahogany, baobab, kapok, coconut palms, and fruiting varieties like guavaberry, banana, and Barbados cherry creating a lush tropical landscape. The entire property is comprised of six separate parcels, offering complete control over privacy, access, and views across the estate. Ideally located near Cane Bay's beaches, diving, and dining, Estate Lucky Bottom offers timeless history, privacy, and sustainable island elegance. Designed by historic architect George Ashley and thoughtfully expanded by the current architect-owner, the 7,821 SF residence unites historic reference with modern comfort. Solidly built by Northshore Partners in 2006, with reinforced poured-concrete foundations, a bond-beam metal roof secured with double hurricane clips, and Miami-Dade impact glass, the Greathouse was created for beauty, longevity, and strength. Approaching the Greathouse from the seaside, welcoming arm stairs replicated from Danish colonial architecture are flanked by two 30-foot majestic foxtail palms. This grand staircase centers perfectly on the 1820 sugar mill located near the sea, creating a visual and historic axis that anchors the estate. This attention to detail continues throughout the property in subtle and not-so-subtle historic elements, blending architectural authenticity with refined island living. Inside, every detail reflects craftsmanship and care. Tall French louvered glass doors welcome cooling breezes and natural light into the open living, dining, and kitchen spaces. The gourmet kitchen features a custom cooktop surround that is creatively constructed from Moroccan ballast brick and a reclaimed wood beam from a barn in South Carolina, complemented by locally crafted Spanish-cedar cabinetry. Appliances include a Wolf gas cooktop, dual built-in gas ovens, KitchenAid dishwasher and microwave, and 60 inches of refrigeration with dual icemakers. A soaring cathedral ceiling with exposed cypress rafters crowns the great room. The master bedroom is a spacious 735 SF, en suite, including a large walk-in closet by Nancy Proctor and a convenient laundry room, all containing custom cabinetry designed and fabricated on island. Large glass and louvered French doors on three of the four walls encircle the poster bed, opening broadly to welcome the breezes and invite the twinkle of the night sky. Common to the architecture of the period, the ceiling is an inverted tray made of natural beaded cypress. A private office is included in the suite, creating a perfect retreat within the home. Modern systems ensure efficiency and peace of mind: 27 solar panels and an 18 KW diesel generator with automatic transfer and a 100-gallon diesel tank for seamless power. The main house and the primary wing each have independent whole-house UV and tri-cartridge water filtration systems. The primary wing also includes its own 12,000-gallon cistern, while an additional 3,000-gallon irrigation cistern supports the lush tropical landscaping. Three central A/C units for comfort and traditional wooden West Indian shutters that add charm while providing reliable storm protection. The saltwater pool, resurfaced in fiberglass and served by a variable-speed pump, ensures low-maintenance enjoyment year-round. A portion of the property surrounding the residence is enclosed with weather-resistant aluminum "wrought-iron" fencing perfect for pets and children. The manicured, fenced yard offers multiple outdoor seating areas to enjoy the breezes and panoramic Caribbean Sea views. A spacious three-car garage provides ample storage for vehicles, tools, and island toys, while three tiled storage rooms, attic space, and a loft within the garage add even more functionality and organization. Among the estate's most fascinating treasures are its original 18th- and 19th-century plantation ruins: the 1820 sugar mill with intact animal slue, an ox mill, towering smokestack, sugar factory with rum-still cistern, and three copper boiling vats, believed to be the last in situ "coppers" in the U.S. Virgin Islands. These remarkable remnants of the historic Cane Bay plantation create a tangible link to the island's past history you can live among. Located at the threshold of St. Croix's lush rainforest, the north shore reveals sweeping views down the coastline to scenic Ham's Bluff and its lighthouse, with sunsets and starry skies that truly offer both the sun and the moon. Just minutes from Cane Bay Beach's world-class diving, beachside dining, and snorkeling along the reef, and a short drive to Christiansted, Estate Lucky Bottom offers the perfect balance of seclusion and convenience. As the sun sets beyond the sea and the sugar mill glows in twilight, it's easy to understand why estates of this caliber are found only once in a generation. Estate Lucky Bottom is more than a home it's a living legacy, where architecture, history, and nature unite to tell the enduring story of St. Croix's Caribbean beauty. Currently listed as a vacation rental.
