Katherine Distler & Frank Pugliese met in 1994 on St. Croix while working together at the original Tutto Bene on Company Street in Christiansted owned by their mentor Tony Cerutto. After falling in love; Katherine and Frank opened their first “baby” Bacchus in 1997, a fine dining, wine spectator award winning restaurant with a huge following of bacchanalians. They owned it for over ten years before selling and opening [email protected] in 2009. “We told people we went from fine dining to fun dining"!” Burgers, frozen rum drinks on the beach, sunsets melting into the ocean, dolphin and whales were a few of the key attractions that made it very sell-able in 2014. After consulting with some downtown restaurants (and waiting for no competes to be over) they started work on the 5 corners location. It has been a dream of Frank’s to have an Italian restaurant, having been inspired through many trips to Italy and desire to recreate his family recipes Years of hard work, inspiration, quality partnerships with local purveyors and a passion to fulfill this dream Un Amore opened its doors in 2016.
